Application is helpful to calculate and learn the basic and important chemical engineering calculations used by professionals and students at their workplace. It makes the calculation very easy to perform and learn (help section of each calculator) the basics behind them.
Application has the following features:
1) Volume, surface area, empty weight, hydrostatic weight for spherical, hemispherical, ellipsoidal, conical end, Frustum tanks.
1)Hydraulic Calculations:
a) Power calculation for pumps.
b) Flow rate, velocity, pipe size calculation for pipes.
c) Affinity law calculator added in pump section
d) Pipe pressure drop calculation which support various pipe fitting, exit entrance losses having large database viscosity and density for common liquids. (Note: Calculator has inbuilt density and viscosity database for 189 common fluids. More data base will be added in future releases.)
3) Flash steam calculation.
4) Control valve flow coefficient and control valve gain calculator.
5) Orifice sizing
7) Venturi flow rate calculation
8) Cooling tower process calculation has the basic calculation as well as pressure drop across cross flow cooling tower (wooden)
